Ways to Access Recipe Studio

Install Recipe Studio as a desktop or mobile app, or add the bookmarklet to your browser

Web Browser

Recipe Studio runs in any modern browser — no installation required. Visit my.recipestudio.us and sign in to get started. All features are available through the browser.

Install as a Chrome App (Desktop)

Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc) let you install Recipe Studio as a standalone desktop app. It opens in its own window without browser chrome, and shows up in your dock, taskbar, or app launcher like any native app.

  1. Open Recipe Studio in Chrome, Edge, or Brave
  2. Look for the Install icon (⊕) in the browser's address bar — or open the browser menu (⋮) and choose Install Recipe Studio (Chrome) or Apps → Install this site as an app (Edge)
  3. Click Install in the confirmation dialog
  4. Recipe Studio opens in its own window and is added to your app launcher

To uninstall, open the app, click the menu icon (⋮) in the top-right corner, and choose Uninstall.

Note: The install prompt only appears after you've visited the app a couple of times, or you can trigger it from the browser menu directly.

Add to Home Screen on iOS / iPadOS

Safari on iPhone and iPad lets you add Recipe Studio to your Home Screen so it launches like a native app — full screen, no browser address bar.

  1. Open Recipe Studio in Safari (this does not work in Chrome or Firefox on iOS)
  2. Tap the Share button (the box with an arrow pointing up) in the toolbar
  3. Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Edit the name if you like, then tap Add

Recipe Studio now appears on your Home Screen. Tap it to open the app in standalone mode, indistinguishable from a native app.

Tip: On iPad, the Share button is in the top toolbar next to the address bar.

Add to Home Screen on Android

Chrome on Android supports installing Recipe Studio as a Progressive Web App (PWA) directly to your home screen.

  1. Open Recipe Studio in Chrome
  2. Tap the browser menu (⋮) in the top-right corner
  3. Tap Add to Home screen (or Install app if shown)
  4. Tap Add in the confirmation dialog

The app icon appears on your home screen and opens in standalone mode without the browser toolbar. On supported devices it will also appear in your app drawer.

Install the Browser Bookmarklet

The bookmarklet lets you save recipes to Recipe Studio from any website with a single click, without leaving the page you're on.

  1. Sign in to Recipe Studio and go to My Recipes
  2. Click Add Recipe and select Install Bookmarklet
  3. Drag the bookmarklet button to your browser's bookmarks bar
  4. When you're on a recipe page anywhere on the web, click the bookmarklet
  5. A Recipe Studio window opens with the recipe pre-loaded — review it and click Save to My Collection

The bookmarklet works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop. For more detail on importing recipes, see Importing Recipes.
