Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about Recipe Studio

General

Do I need an account to view a shared recipe? No. Anyone with a share link can view the recipe without signing in. You only need an account to save recipes to your own collection.

Can I use Recipe Studio on my phone? Yes. Recipe Studio is a responsive web app that works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop.

Recipes

Why did my recipe import fail? Some websites block automated access. Try the browser bookmarklet instead, or create the recipe manually.

Can I import from Pinterest or Instagram? Not currently. These platforms don't expose recipe data in a way that can be reliably imported. Try finding the original recipe source and importing from there.

What happens to my recipes if I leave a shared kitchen? Recipes remain in the kitchen. If you want to keep copies in your personal kitchen, save them to your personal collection before leaving. You can use the Recipe Sharing functionality to copy recipes to your personal kitchen.

Can I export my recipes? Recipe export is not available yet. It's on the roadmap for a future release.

Shopping & Pantry

How does AI categorization decide which aisle an item goes in? It uses the item name combined with your custom aisle list to make a best guess. You can always manually reassign an item to a different aisle by editing it.

Will adding a recipe to the shopping list create duplicate items? Recipe Studio detects duplicate ingredients and merges them when the names match. Slightly different names (e.g., "onion" vs "yellow onion") may create separate entries that you can merge manually.

Can I share my shopping list with someone? The shopping list is shared automatically with everyone in your kitchen. Invite them to join your kitchen to shop together.

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my account? Contact us at privacy@recipestudio.app and we'll delete your account and all associated data.

Who can see my recipes? Only you and members of your kitchen can see your recipes. Recipes are only visible publicly when you explicitly generate a share link.

Does Recipe Studio sell my data? No. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
