AI Features
How Recipe Studio uses AI to save you time and effort
How AI Is Used
Recipe Studio uses AI (large language models) to power several features that would otherwise require significant manual work.
Recipe Extraction from URLs
When you import a recipe from a URL, Recipe Studio first looks for structured recipe data on the page. If none is found, it sends the page content to an AI model to extract the recipe details.
The AI identifies:
- Recipe title and description
- Ingredient list with quantities and units
- Step-by-step instructions
- Prep and cook times
You always review the result before saving. AI extraction is accurate for most sites but may occasionally miss details — always check the imported recipe.
Recipe Extraction from Videos
For YouTube cooking videos, AI analyzes the video transcript to generate a recipe. This works best for videos where the host clearly states ingredients and steps.
Shopping List Categorization
The Categorize Items button on the Shopping List page uses AI to assign each item to the most appropriate aisle. It considers the item name and your custom aisle configuration.
Privacy and Your Data
- Only the content you're processing (a URL, a video link, or your shopping list items) is sent to the AI provider — never your full recipe library or personal information
- Recipe Studio uses API-tier AI services that do not use your data to train their models
- See the Privacy Policy for full details
AI Accuracy
AI-generated content is a starting point, not a final answer. Always review imported recipes and categorized items. If something is wrong, you can edit it manually.
