Shopping List

Manage your grocery list with smart categorization and pantry integration

Overview

The Shopping List is your grocery manager. Items can be added manually, imported from recipes, or generated from your meal plan. The list organizes items by aisle for efficient shopping.

Multiple Lists

Your kitchen can have multiple named shopping lists — useful for splitting trips by store, by person, or by purpose (e.g., "Weekly Groceries" and "Costco Run").

Creating a list: Click the + button next to the list tabs at the top of the Shopping List page and enter a name.

Switching lists: Click any tab to switch to that list.

Renaming or deleting a list: Open per-list settings from the list's tab menu.

Default list: Set a personal default so Shopping List always opens on your preferred list. This is configured in per-list settings.

Adding Items

Manually: Type an item name in the text field at the top of the Shopping List page and press Enter or click Add. You can also specify a quantity and unit.

From a recipe: Open any recipe and click Add to Shopping List. All ingredients are added at once.

From your meal plan: Click Add to Shopping List on the Meal Plan page to add a whole week's worth of ingredients.

Checking Off Items

Tap or click any item to mark it as purchased. Checked items move to the bottom of the list. When you're done shopping, click Clear Checked Items to remove them.

AI Categorization

Recipe Studio can automatically sort your items by grocery store aisle using AI. Click Categorize Items and each item will be assigned to the most appropriate aisle (Produce, Dairy, Meat, etc.).

You can create custom aisles that match your specific store's layout in Settings.

Aisles Per List

Each shopping list can either share the kitchen-wide aisles or maintain its own set of list-specific aisles. Toggle this in per-list settings. List-specific aisles are managed under Settings → Aisles when that list is active.

Editing Items

Click the edit icon next to any item to change its name, quantity, unit, or aisle assignment.

Reordering Items

Drag and drop items within a category to reorder them. Drag items between categories to reassign them to a different aisle.

Converting to Pantry

When you get home from shopping, click Move to Pantry to transfer checked items directly to your Pantry inventory. This saves you from entering items twice.

Clearing the List

  • Clear checked: Removes only the checked-off items
  • Clear all: Removes everything from the Shopping List
