Meal Planning

Plan your meals for the week and automatically generate shopping lists

Overview

The Meal Plan gives you a weekly calendar view to schedule which recipes you'll cook each day. Once planned, you can add all the ingredients directly to your Shopping List with one click.

Viewing the Meal Plan

Click Meal Plan in the sidebar. You'll see a 7-day calendar showing the current week. Each day can hold multiple meals.

Adding a Recipe to the Meal Plan

  1. Find the day you want to cook
  2. Click + Add Meal on that day
  3. Search for a recipe from your collection
  4. Click Add to place it on the calendar

Adding a Note to the Meal Plan

You can add a short freeform note — like "cereal", "dinner leftovers", or "eating out" — to any day without linking a full recipe.

  1. Find the day you want to annotate
  2. Click the + button at the bottom of that meal slot
  3. Type your note and press Enter or click Add

Notes appear as compact cards in the slot alongside any recipe entries. Click Remove on a note card to delete it.

Moving Meals

Drag and drop any meal to a different day to reschedule it. This makes it easy to adjust your plan as the week changes.

Removing a Meal

Click the Ɨ button on any meal card to remove it from the plan.

Generating a Shopping List

Once your week is planned:

  1. Click Add to Shopping List at the top of the Meal Plan page
  2. All ingredients from your planned recipes are added to your Shopping List
  3. Duplicate ingredients are combined automatically

This is the fastest way to build a complete shopping list for the week.

Tips for Meal Planning

  • Plan 4–5 dinners and leave gaps for leftovers or eating out
  • Add recipes you already have ingredients for first
  • Use Collections to quickly find recipes that fit your theme for the week
